Planning and creating content can take up a lot of your time, that’s why it’s important to have a blog workflow that simplifies and streamlines the way that you create content.

The first step is to figure out a workflow that works for you. The second step is to continue to refine and improve your workflow.

Here are two very different workflows to give you an idea of what is possible:

Blog workflow number one

Create a new Google Doc for each post and brainstorm a catchy blog title before the first sentence is written. Once the title is decided, outline the post and think through a storyline or an objective for the post.

Once the post is written, copy and paste it into the backend of your website. Then do your formatting, categorising and tagging. Create a graphic to go with your post then schedule it to publish at your regular time.

Blog workflow number two

Download all of your content ideas into a project in Asana. Organise them by theme or common client project. For each idea make a note of the three core concepts that you want to address.

Batch write your next four posts into your blog post document using your core concepts.

Decide on blog titles after the blog posts are written.

Once the posts are written, let your VA know that the words are ready to go. She’ll then copy and paste them into the backend of your website as well as formatting, categorising and tagging. She’ll also choose an image of you to go with each post, from your image library. Lastly, she’ll schedule those posts to publish at your regular time and update your Asana project.

Creating systems and workflows in your business allows you to work faster and more efficiently, especially when it comes to blogging. There are multiple different ways to create a blog workflow, it’s important to design one that fits in with your style of working.
