One of my favourite things to do with clients is show them how to change Google Drive to suit their working style when we’re working on their file organisation.
We each have our own unique working style so I’m quick to encourage you to make any changes you need to create a working environment that works best for you.
Choose your dashboard
You get to decide if your dashboard opens as Home (which shows suggested files) or My Drive (which can show the folders you’ve created).
- Select “Settings” by clicking on the cog symbol in the top right hand corner.
2. A new page will appear. From here you can select Home or My Drive for the Start Page.
Change your layout
There are two viewing options on your home page. You can change Google Drive to have either List Layout or Grid Layout.
1. List Layout
2. Grid Layout
To change your viewing option simply click on the three lines or on the four boxes in the top right-hand corner of the page, as shown below.
Add colour to your folders
Who doesn’t love some colour?!
By changing the colour of your folders in Google Drive it can make it easier to find what you need, plus its prettier. This how you do it:
- Hover over a folder then right click
- A new menu will appear. Hover over “Organize”
- A new menu will appear with your colour choices. Click on the colour that appeals to you.
You’re done!
