Chiang Mai has 3 night markets for you to wander around and nibble through to your heart’s content.
Night Bizarre
This market is on Chang Khan Road and I visited it nearly every Friday night when I was here as it was just down the road (it’s open on other nights too). I found a fantastic masseur od I looked forward to seeing her after a week of physical work at the dog shelter.
There is a variety of street food here as well as a food court with delicious food. Try the roti with banana and chocolate. Soooo good!
Saturday Walking Market
This market is on Wua Lai Road, south of the Old City. It’s a relaxed market with plenty of food on offer and souvenirs to buy.
Sunday Walking Market
This market starts outside the Tha Pae Gate (at the eastern side of the Old City) and continues along Ratchadamnoen Road, which is closed to traffic for the market.
This is the largest market and there is something here for everyone! Shop until you can’t carry any more. Eat until all your buttons pop then have a seat in a comfy lazy boy chair and have a foot massage. This is a wonderful way to spend a Sunday.
The market opens at 5pm and goes until late. It’s much busier after dark.
