Our salsa team has arrived in L.A! We are sleep deprived and worse for wear, yet all excited to be here.

The LA Salsa Festival starts on Friday so we have a few days to be the ultimate tourists and see what the City of Angels has in store for us. First up is Disneyland!

Meeting my heros at Disneyland

20 years ago I went to Disneyland for the first time. My mission . . . get a photo with Goofy. It was only natural that I attempt to find him again and see if he’d remember me…

The rest of the day passed in a blur of rides and characters. My favourite was Maleficent – her dry and wicked sense of humour was brilliant.

When the crowds got too much I jumped on the Monorail that runs around the park. I got lucky and was able to sit in the very front so had a great view for taking photos . . .

Finally, it wouldn’t be a Clave Collective Adventure if there wasn’t a pose or two . . .

Travel Tips:

Use the First Pass option (there is a free and a paid option) that allows you to book in for a ride later in the day rather than waiting for hours in the queue.

Single Rider is another great option. It’s not only for those enjoying the park by themselves. The idea is that there will be a few spare spaces on each “vehicle” that need filling up. Welcome onboard Single Riders! I used this option when I got separated from my group and I jumped straight to the front of the line which was fantastic. If you’re with a couple of friends this can be a great way to save some time waiting in queues.
